s at Haihatus Art Center in Joutsa\, Finland. Their self-initiated textile
-process-project was launched in February 2023 and it spans three years an
d covers three countries. In an open-end process\, in Finland\, Germany an
d Poland\, the unfolding and taking hold of the immaterial in textiles\, g
rasping its past in the present\, is explored. Each team-member defines he
r own focus and route. \n\nPaulina\, Nanna and Heike are professional inte
rnational textile makers and educators (art academy\, teachers’ college\
, weaving centers). Individually they engage in a wide scope of textile-re
lated activities through research\, fiber art and crafts’ exhibitions\,
 competition-participation\, curating\, museum-collaborations\, etc. \n\nHa
nd weaving as an artistic and craft technique is highly valued and still p
resent in Finland. The numerous Taito-centers of the Finnish Crafts Associ
ation Taitoliitto commit to upholding\, disseminating and modernizing old
craft skills\, including weaving. In Finland Taitoliitto is UNESCO’s par
tner. \n\nThe 3x3-team’s collaboration with and exchange at Taito-Joutsa
was a rewarding two-way exchange. A non-hierarchical and collegial contac
t with Finnish textile craft-experts was possible. The professional equipm
ent at the Taito-crafts center enabled the team’s immediate immersion in
the hands on textile-making. \n\nIn the studio at Utopia House\, Haihatus
Art Center\, the project’s playful and experimental side came to fruiti
on. Branches\, gras\, flowers\, mushrooms and blueberries from the surroun
ding woods were spread out as source of inspiration and crafting in an ins
piring laboratory-like testing ground. Art was exhibited\, some of which i
s now on show at the Gedok Gallery.\n\nThe 3x3-team had access to the Haih
atus Gallery starting 23 September. A 3x3: Grasp the Immaterial Snapshot _
Process Review 01 was organized with the aim to reach out and interact wit
h the local Joutsa community. Spanning numerous days\, the common public\,
school-classes\, women’s groups and private visits were accommodated. T
he 3x3-team presented thoughts and works of their “Grasping the Immateri
al” explorations and invited and encouraged everyone to craft-interactio
ns in the many workshops. Digitally the vitas\, activities and works of th
 e 3x3 team were shown as a beamer-projection in the gallery-space. A learn
ing with and from each other took place. \n\nIn late March 2024 the 3
x3 team meets again. This time the so-called "Fliegender Wechsel" at Gedok
